BOOK DESCRIPTION
Forsaken Kingdom details the history of Arvalast, a mythical realm ruled by a good king. Governors rule under him, each one in charge of a particular city or country. Illuminas, small phials of light, give these towns protection over all that is evil. But Wrathar, lord of the southern land of Shieth, desires to take Arvalast for his own. Using his most powerful servant, the sentinels, he manages to corrupt those loyal to the king with the crimson light (a perversion of the light of the illumina) and conquer much of Arvalast.

During Wrathar’s rise to power, a prophecy is written promising the coming of three warriors of light. These warriors will usher in a time of warfare against Wrathar ultimately leading to his destruction. After discovering the prophecy, Wrathar knows he must take the last free realms of Arvalast and kill the king or risk being destroyed as the prophecy predicts.

In the midst of the approaching darkness, three seemingly insignificant boys from the city of Woodend begin the story that is the first part of the Forsaken Kingdom series - City of Prophecy. Though Woodend is nestled in the Northern Forest of Arvalast, and is mostly unaware of the happenings in the south, the three teenagers begin to hear strange rumors about dangers on the forest roads. At the same time, mysterious men from the north come to town professing to be heralds to the king. They warn the city about a mounting threat from within its own walls.

Out of curiosity, the boys begin to siphon through the mire of rumors in hopes of finding a good story, but unwittingly fall into the center of Wrathar’s plan to destroy Woodend. Soon, Wrathar discovers that these three boys are the ones destined to become the warriors of prophecy. But rather than kill them, he instead seeks to woo them to his side.

Each young man begins to realize he is in the midst of a great tug-of-war between Wrathar and the king. Wrathar’s servants attempt to corrupt them with the lure of power through the crimson light, while the heralds of the king try to convince them the light of the illumina is the only true path to peace and safety. All along, a great battle for the Northern Forest begins in the physical realm, and rages in the “unseen” spiritual realm.
