BOOK DESCRIPTION
When 18-year-old Hana Silna travels to Prague to reclaim her family's ancestral home, she finds herself on an unexpected adventure in a city brimming with ancient secrets. She discovers a riddle by the infamous alchemist Edward Kelley that claims to lead to a long-last flask. The contents of that flask could change the fate of the world.
When a ruthless enemy kidnaps her family, Hana has to find the flask to rescue them. On her quest she meets a mysterious man with a penchant for poetry, a Gypsy girl with a haunting past, and Alex, the motorcycle-riding son of a U.S. diplomat. Alex -- who's trying to save his sister from a crippling disease -- joins Hana on her race across Bohemia to find the hidden flask. It's hard to trust anyone when the stakes are this high -- especially when surrounded by experts at deception.
There's only one flask and Hana desperately needs to find it.
The Riddle of Prague is the first of the Quicksilver Legacy Trilogy.

Now when does the second installment come out!?!
"The Riddle of Prague," the first of the QuickSilver Legacy Series, is cover-to-cover excitement and action that immerses the reader in the enchanting city of Prague. Prague--a city rich with millennia of history--hosts the eighteen-year-old Hana Silna's adventures as Hana finds herself suddenly entangled in a high-risk-but-even-higher-reward hunt for the secret to immortality, supposedly discovered by an alchemist Sir Edward Kelly centuries ago! As Hana strives to decide whom she can trust--whether she can trust her family who Hana now knows has kept so much hidden from her, a secretive and unlikely trio, or maybe Alex, a charming and handsome son of an overly-anxious diplomat--the reader is swept into the mystery with Hana. With so much on the line, Hana must decide what she is willing to sacrifice on the chance that Edward Kelley is more than just a mad-scientist that has taken a fancy to writing encrypted riddles.
DeBruce's novel engrosses the reader with an intricate plot and story-line that will keep an adult reader rooted to their favorite chair, and will still entertain and pleasure any young reader! Around every page-corner lies electric action leading to an intense race for the secret to immortality. The action is balanced by equally intense, yet tender, feelings of a brother's love for his ill sister and by the flirting possibility of a budding romance between Hana and her new, charming friend Alex. Through DeBruce's style of indirect characterization and use of dynamic pace, the reader is transported within the action itself and struggles through every challenge with Hana as she strives to determine whom she can trust and whom she cannot on her quest to find Sir Edward Kelley's secret to immortality in order to--does Hana even know why she is doing this anymore?

The Riddle of Prague is a fabulous, well written, exciting story that had me sucked in from the beginning. Hana and all of the characters are very interesting and unique. The story line is intriguing and mysterious, twisting and turning from page to page, beginning to end. What starts out as a trip to reclaim family property, turns into a dangerous journey that Hana will need help with to make it out alive. The search for the hidden flask with mystical contents that give near eternal life to a select few is fascinating to say the least. As the quest leads seekers all over Prague, the reader is taken along on a tour with vivid imagery of landmarks mixed with real and imagined history. All this happens while trying to figure out who is helping Hana and who is using her. The Nomad and her accomplice, who are working against Hana, are just two of the people to try to figure out who they actually are and what their motives are. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next one to come out. Nice job Laura Debruce!
