REVIEWS
5.0 out of 5 stars Hooked on Habit January 8, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
There are a lot of twists and turns in this story and the suspense is pretty much non-stop. I really love this main character and the personal struggles he's going through because, honestly, I faced some of those struggles myself. He's a well drawn character who travels into some pretty dark territory. The story very much reminded me of Silence of the Lambs, one of my favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome thriller January 22, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Habit is a frightening thriller with some elements common to many murder mysteries, but this one surprised me with its darkness, action, and its attention to the characters’ feelings. The hero’s emotions are clear and realistic even as he pushes them aside in a struggle to focus on the investigation at hand. The story moves unexpectedly from the detective’s fact gathering and thoughtful analysis to frantic gunfights. The beautiful countryside of upstate New York hides sleaze that is only revealed by a brutal murder, and the reasons for that crime are much larger than it originally seems. T. J. Brearton has got the realism and tone just right. This book made me get up at night to make sure I’d locked the doors.
