BOOK OF THE DAY: Say Not What If by Andrew Friedman

by Andrew Friedman

BOOK DESCRIPTION
A dying man craves the time he has lost. Written as a long rhyming poem, Say Not "What If" recounts his journey and the consequences of the choices he makes in a desperate desire to stay alive. Exceptionally easy to read and understand, many readers have praised the power and thought provoking nature of this unique story. What would you do for more time?

"This was a lyrical masterpiece! Very deep with an important life lesson woven in. Excellent from start to finish, and highly recommended by me."

"This literary work is something incredibly special. I highly recommend this book, and hope that its life lessons will stay with us for the rest of our journey."

"The paradox of a man's dying despair with the lyrical rhyming was intoxicating. Easy to read, and emotionally provocative, Mr. Friedman has written a truly unique short story."

"This poetic short story is so gripping and compelling that you won't stop reading. And more than reading, I was almost singing along with the story, it was so beautifully written."

"Say Not "What If"
is a beautifully written piece of literature with a dark heart at its core. The stark contrast between the lovely poetry and all the things that made this ugly was severe but it was also what made the story . . . beautiful in an uncanny way."

"I found myself truly submerged in the story. I read it in one afternoon and it left me with lots to think about, which, really, is what books are all about."

REVIEWS
5.0 out of 5 stars Thought provoking read! Loved it!, April 26, 2012
This review is from: Say Not What If (Paperback)
Amazing! Through prose Andrew Friedman told a story of a man who worked to much and did not devote much time to his family or himself. This situation is so very common in today's world. But through, Andrew's prose, he makes the reader think on how do we want to be/live? Do we want to be in the same shoes as his main character or do we want to begin living!

Andrew, well written. I was intrigued from page 1 and could not put it down. Very thought provoking! And I also thank you because I would like rearrange some priorities in my life so that I can live life to its fullest and not wait until the end. I want to die having said everything I want to say, and have done everything I want to do! NO REGRETS!

I will be passing this book along because I know many people that will be greatly effected by its words!

I would also like to add:
The theme of the death penalty had me thinking. Such a tough topic, with so many differing opinions! (less)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Reality Check in Poetry Form May 1, 2012
Format:Paperback
I AM NOT A CRITIC, & I don't know much about doing book reviews, but here I go. LoL!

I didn't know what to expect with this book. Where it was only 51 pages I set aside my current reading & read it.

WOW! What an amazing writing!! I'd never imagined a "story" written in poetry format, let alone to be so precise, emotionally heartfelt, & so surreal! To write a story so short, in poetic format, & be able to keep the reader thinking throughout, is just amazing to me. I had a hard time putting it down, but also had to ponder as I read. There is so much to learn from this story! It's amazing how Friedman has brought it all together in this format.

A story about a husband workaholic who looses it all then finds out he's terminally ill. He makes a deal with the gods of fate which back fires on him & things go wickedly bad from thereon. I don't like the reviews that give out a lot of detail, so I won't. Lol.
Thank you Mr. Friedman, for giving my such a great book. I am sharing this book with MANY friends & family! It has become a very heartfelt experience for me, giving me a lot of things to ponder in life that have been forgotten through time.
