REVIEWS
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! Truly Enjoyable, April 1, 2013
This review is from: The Legionnaire: Origins (Kindle Edition)
Stephen Anderson is a private investigator who was introduced to us in S.J. Parkinson's excellent book "The Legionnaire: Mask of the Pharaoh. After reading this book, which I really enjoyed, it left me wanting to know more about Anderson "previous life" and how he was able to assume this new identify and why he needed a new identify.

All of these questions are answered as well as what is happening now in his new life. We are introduced to some new and interesting characters that have a major effect on his life including a dead man that he found in the desert that make his new life possible. We are given a picture of Anderson in his early life and how the death of his Father effected his decision to join the Foreign Legion.

In addition to all of the interesting things that happened to shape Anderson's personality we are given a snapshot of what life is like being in the Foreign Legion and living in a desert. It was oblivious that the author did a good amount of research which added another layer of enjoyment to the story.

Mr. Parkinson is a skilled writer who knows his craft and how to tell a story that keeps your attention while making you want to know more. This was an excellent story with some characters you will truly like and others that are detestable. As with his previous Legionnaire book the story has a love interest, who is one of the most interesting characters you will meet in any book. I am not a romance reader but like a little "softening" in adventure stories and especially when they help add another dimension to the main character.

I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series to see if Anderson can hide from his past and to follow his interesting life. A good read that will keep you turning pages to see what will happen next.

Thank you Mr. Parkinson for allowing me to read this book, it was offered to me with no expectations of a review good or bad.

I could not put the book down. It filled in all the questions I had from the first book but it was also very sad too. But now I want to know what happens now that the villians know Marten/Anderson is alive(from the Mask of the Pharaoh)

Great book. I recommend it.
