by Wendy Wittmer

BOOK DESCRIPTION
This Cookbook Will Not Kill You…Your Taste Buds Nor Your Waistline features the central themes of international cuisine and everything in moderation. Throughout your culinary journey, you will encounter entertaining stories from Wendy’s travels and her childhood, which directly influenced or inspired the recipes in this collection. Each recipe is healthy to relatively healthy and features a photo of the final product. Also included are incredibly helpful conversion charts, tips, and substitution possibilities. This unique cookbook also features user friendly navigation through interactive links to and from each recipe and the table of contents.

Throughout your navigation, you will see and learn how to make dishes such as Christmas Rice, Rustic Vichyssoise, Stuffed Roasted Red Peppers, Lemon Zucchini Gnocchi, Creamy Sweet Ricotta with Balsamic Strawberries, and Seasonal Fruit Two Ways. This cookbook will be appealing to meat eaters and vegetarians alike, as well as to foodies and beginners. This is not a diet cookbook; however, Wendy’s principal philosophy is “to create and provide recipes which taste great without harm to your waist.” This Cookbook is actually filled with interesting and somewhat non-traditional recipes, flavor, and nutrition; a rare combination.

AUTHOR BIO

Who is Wendy Wittmer and why has she created a cookbook? Wendy is an entrepreneur and international business professional by trade; however, her true passions are cooking and writing. Her mother had a catering company when she was growing up thrusting her into the cooking world at a very young age. She also worked in many restaurants over the years, some of great esteem and others simply fantastic learning experiences. Wendy has spent the past 15 years traveling to and living in other countries and various regions throughout the US. While she is not a professional chef, she cooks nearly every day, often with people from all over the world, and has done so now for over 10 years. She may not have formal training; however, she has plenty of life experiences, which have greatly influenced her cooking and recipes, and is eager to share each one, well most of them, with everyone.

This cookbook is a must for both the everyday cook or the advanced foodie. The author provides a fresh and tasty outlook on recipe combinations that you didn't even know were possible. The mango and crab salad is one of mine and my husband's favorites. We love mangos and never thought to mix it in a salad with crab, but after trying this recipe, we love it! This cookbook gives me motivation to cook and experiment in the kitchen without adding a lot of calories. It is incredibly easy to follow and provides substitutes for ingredients if necessary to accommodate to everyone's taste and health needs. I highly recommend this cookbook to everyone who would like to be refreshed in the kitchen, where cooking can be creative and enjoyable without spending hours over the stove.

This book is a delicious addition to any cook's library. Whether you are a novice or Top Chef wannabe, you will savor and relish every byte and bite! The photos are spectacular and super appetizing. The recipes are YUM delicious and easy to follow. The glossary and guides in the back of the book are super handy. With the holidays coming up these recipes are a delicious way to eat great food without feeling guilty. I've already made the turkey baguette recipe post-Thanksgiving. This will make an excellent holiday gift for fellow foodies....!
